What are you doing for Australia Day??

Australia Day Celebrations will be held at Jezzine Barracks. It is the perfect location to celebrate Australia Day with an aussie snag in hand!

Events throughout the day include a Fun Run and breakfast, Citizenship Ceremony, Australia Day Award Ceremony and the State Flag Raising Ceremony.

Other fun activities include Australian Car Display, free amusements for the kids and live entertainment! There is something for the whole family!

Australia Day 5km Fun Run

Registration to the Fun Run is a gold coin donation with all proceeds donated to charity.

Register for the 5km Fun Run at Kennedy Regiment Plaza from 6am on the day, with the race starting at 7am. Dress in Australia Day costume for your chance to win a best dressed cash prizes! Save time and register for the Fun Run before the day! Visit the Townsville Road Runners webpage to download the registration form.

After the Fun Run, stay on for a free Aussie BBQ breakfast and other Australia Day Festivities.

Road Closures

Road closures will be in place within the Jezzine Barracks precinct between 5am and 1pm. No entry will be permitted from The Strand, Howitt Street, Mitchell Street, Isley Street and Cook Street. Isley Street between Cook Street and Mitchell Street will be closed between 11.30am and 12.30pm. Noise – The Australian Defence Force will be conducting a traditional 21 Gun Salute, followed by an Air Force Flypast at Jezzine Barracks at 12:00pm.
